For a free ball cap click here. Oh, sorry, that link is not active.
What’s the deal? If those links are not active, then what is? How can I access the “free stuff”?
For the Word of God is living and active…(Hebrews 4:12a)
The Word of God is the real active link. The Bible is the source we should turn to for the information we need for our lives. When we turn to God’s Word, we display a trust of God and a dependence on Him. Check out the “Who is God?” page for more information about that.
When you “click” that “link”, what kind of free stuff will you find?
So if the Son sets you free, you are free indeed (John 8:36).
Jesus tells us that the first free item we can access when we click the link is ourselves. We can be free. We can be free of our past. Hurts that have been done to us do not have to enslave us forever. We can be free of our present. The good thing about living a life full of bad decisions is that the next one doesn’t have to conform to the same pattern. We can be free of our future.
And this is the biggie. Romans 6:23 says, For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord. God has one standard. It is applied evenly to everyone. It has been known to us for 2,000 years. There is no doubt what God wants from us and for us. It the epitome of fair. And because of that standard we all need Jesus.
And that leads us to the second piece of “free stuff” we can get when we click on the link provided. That “link”, the Word of God, is a two-part link. The first, I have mentioned already, is the Bible. That is God’s written communication to us. But the second part of the link is Jesus. John 1:1,14 tells us that, In the beginning was the Word … and the Word was God … the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us…Jesus is God’s living communication with us.
When we access the living link, we can receive the other free gift, life. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift … For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God… (2 Corinthians 9:15, Ephesians 2: 8).
And not just any life, but real life in Jesus. The kind of life that is not an empty existence. A life filled with abundance. The verse above describes it as indescribable. Salvation is life. It is life lived with the help of the Almighty Creator of the Universe. We do not have to live it alone. We are not supposed to live it alone. We are designed to live it for Him, by Him, and through Him.
If your life cannot be described as indescribably good, consider that you may not be living it in the manner in which it was intended to be lived. Many people attempt to reach God, and get His input into their lives, their way. They seek out a god whom they can control. One whom they can “relate” to. They ascribe to an idea that many paths lead to God.
But God Himself said only one path leads to Him. In the Gospel of John, chapter 14 verse 6 we are told that, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. That is Jesus speaking. Notice the statement does not contain qualifiers. He does not say “one of the ways”, “some of the truth”, or “part of the life”.
If you are ready to turn over control to the Maker. If you are ready to live life as the Live-giver intended. If you are ready to follow the One True Path, we encourage you to take that step as you read this. Then find your way to a church that believes Jesus is who He says He is.
Pray the following prayer. You don’t have to quote it word-for-word; the words are not magical. Paraphrase it so that the words you speak express where you are right now.
Dear Father. Thank You for being my Heavenly Father. Thank you for giving me access to you both through the Bible and through your Son, Jesus. I am living my life not as you intended. I have chosen to follow a path to You of my own design. I do not want to continue down that same road any longer. You know me. You know my struggles. You know my pain. You know my past. You know my present. And I know my future should I continue as I am. You have clearly stated that in Romans 6:23, as I read above. I ask You to forgive me for living the life You gave me without allowing You to direct me. You gave me my life. I want to give it back to You. Please forgive me for disregarding what You told me in the Bible. Please forgive me for living a life that does not bring You honor. I ask for the “free stuff” You promise in the Bible. The gift of salvation and real life that only comes by accepting Jesus as the only path to You. Make me brand new. I ask You for this gift that only comes by believing in Jesus as the Way, the Truth, and the Life. In Jesus' name I ask. Thank You.
